passing jet
a young tree bends
in the morning sun

Low flying jet? Or was the tree just caught in a breeze?

Thanks again for stopping by site and dropping the Tolstoy quote. Did you mean anything in particular by it? Or were you just sharing?

Thanks again

I bet that pilot was once a swinger of birches! Cheers.

ap: The main connection is simply that I observed the two events simultaneously. There's no actual connection between the jet's passing and the tree's bending; the latter was caused by a strong breeze here on the ground. But I let my imagination play with it a little, and the haiku is the result.
floots: I certainly hope so.

Bill: thanks for the elaboration.

Thanks also for the quote and the opportunity to reflect. I appreciate our exchanges. I hope you like them as much as I do. I always hope some of the things that I write (like that piece) might stimulate an interesting response which might cause me to think, in turn. Regards . . . .
