this is a sparkling sixgun of a piece
didn't even see you draw
but it hits the spot
romantic
evocative
naturalistic
(I know I've said it before, but I bet youknew this one was right as soon as you finished it.
(thanks for the visit)

Right, floots. This one felt good all the way, and I've received a lot of positive feedback on it.

This one has stayed with me. It's somehow hesitant and hopeful. And thanks for the wonderful comment on my haiku set. Kami.

Anon: For me, the woman always worth waiting for is my wife Pat, but the poem is open as to who's who. And you're welcome re: your blog, to which, as you know, I'm a frequent visitor.

Bill: re your comment that this poem has a particular meaning for you, but is open to any one else reading, that is the same approach I took with "Defiant." That way, a reader can relate his/her own experiences or feelings to the text of the poem.

I think all of your haiku is great. Possibly you'd post some of it in my poetry forum at
http://poetry-and-prose.activeboard.com/

I have a special section for Haiku.
