congratulations, polona

My friend polona, a frequent visitor to this blog, has just won first place in the free format section of the shiki monthly kukai and second place in the kigo section.

The principle of the kukai is that your haiku must be based on an assigned season word (kigo) or an assigned theme (free format). The kigo this month was "starry night." The free format theme was memory.

By the way, English is polona's second language.

If you're not familiar with polona's work as a poet and photographer, click on "Ladybird Haiku" in the list of blogs to the left.
