fading into dawn
the moon that shone so brightly

Thanks, Vaughn, aurora, and pat. This was a conscious effort to write a neo-classical haiku. It's in the 5-7-5 format, and it has a kigo/season word derived from the Japanese. To most western readers, "moon" doesn't suggest one season more than another, but in classical Japanese haiku, "moon," unless otherwise qualified, is always understood as the autumn moon, and therefore as a kigo for autumn.

Thanks, polona and andrew. I do feel that things came together right this time, even though it's in many ways an uncharacteristic piece for me.
