Bill said...: Thanks, Vaughn, aurora, and pat. This was a conscious effort to write a neo-classical haiku. It's in the 5-7-5 format, and it has a kigo/season word derived from the Japanese. To most western readers, "moon" doesn't suggest one season more than another, but in classical Japanese haiku, "moon," unless otherwise qualified, is always understood as the autumn moon, and therefore as a kigo for autumn.; 8:01 AM
