I do not believe I have ever seen a gray squirel. However, I have a really fat one that comes a calling every morning. He eat my halloween pumpkin until there was nothing less. This made me smile Bill. Very nice.

I have many squirrels here, but it's rare to see a gray one. Wonder why that is?

All we have here are gray squirrels, and they're skittering everywhere looking for dead leaves and twigs, and whatever they can find for food.

I understand there's a real possibility that gray squirrels will completely displace red squirrels in England, Ireland, and Italy. Apparently the little devils tend to take over. In writing the poem, I wasn't sure whether the squirrel was an example of the bareness or an exception to it. I'm still not sure.

Thanks for the visit, Juliet and Pat.
