the third line manes this one extraordinary... those pesky thoughts, eh...
I agree about the third line.
"Cross out" adds a great tactile sensation to how we struggle with the past.

perfect! I have seen the same...
I like to cross out thoughts in the mind and then put it in the diary...
kidding my dear, mine is perhaps full of cross marks and overwritings...find it difficult to make out what was meant originally and yet some words remain untouched...

Yeah, polona,Ken, and Andrew, it's easier to cross out words than thoughts.
Devika, I have one more "old diary" to go (I submitted 3 to the kukai).
:-) If you use a word processor you can just use the BackSpace button. :-)
what I like (and recognise from my own experience) in this is that you've only tried to cross out the old thoughts, they're actually still there to read

A word-processed diary, Vaughn? An abomination!Delete buttons are so final (but there's always the recycle bin).
