I'm sure somebody around here would know, Juliet, but nobody around here is awake at first light.

Well, if you must wake up, Magyar, it's a good way to do it.

Nice one, Bill

here, its sparrows and pigeons on my window sills...and I love to listen to their songs or squabbles in those silent early morning moments, before I start my chores,

wishes,
devika

We get the sparrows, pigeons, mourning doves, Devika, but once in a while I am intrigued by a song I can't place.

I don't doubt it for a minute, Gautami.

good one, bill

i'm not at all a morning person but love being awaken by a birdsong.
here, the most likely culprit would also be a blackbird :)

I think this is pretty. The simplicity of it makes it very attractive to me.

My sofa visiting friend (previously mentioned) is good at recognising birdsong. It's a skill I'd like to learn.

birdsong, wildflowers . . . the world is full of things that give me joy, but that I can't call by their rightful names.
